ERIE, Pa. - The WSU volleyball team lost in straight sets to the Gannon Lady Knights by scores of 30-20, 30-27, 30-25 Friday night at the Hammermill Center.
Megan Smolen recorded her 14th double-double of the season with 13 kills and 11 digs. Jaime Banners added 10 kills and nine digs. Rebecca Hague dished out 42 assists in the loss.
Five Gannon players finished the night with an attack percentage of .300 or better. The Lady Knights recorded a .331 attack percentage as a team. Alyssa Ruffino led the Gannon offense with 18 kills.
Gannon improved to 13-9 overall and 9-6 in the GLIAC. Wayne State dropped to 10-14 overall and 2-12 in GLIAC play. The Warriors continue play in Erie on Saturday with a 4:30 p.m. match at Mercyhurst.
