FINDLAY, Ohio - The Wayne State University volleyball team (15-11, 8-7 GLIAC) earned its third consecutive shutout victory Friday night at the University of Findlay (12-20, 2-13).

The Warriors won by scores of 26-24, 25-18, and 25-18 to come away with their fourth 3-0 triumph in their last five matches.

Candis Jenich (Warren, Mich./Cousino) had a team-high 10 kills, while Lauren Mallast (Chesterfield, Mich./Anchor Bay) and Kim Gear (Benton Harbor, Mich./Watervliet) finished with nine kills apiece. Mallast led WSU with a .571 hitting percentage and four blocks.

Sarha Gosselin (Harrison Twp., Mich./Warren Lincoln) contributed eight kills and six digs, while Mayssa Bazzi (Dearborn, Mich.) posted a team-best 13 digs.

As a team, the Warriors registered a .287 hitting percentage, compared to the Oilers' .089 mark.

Wayne State will close the 2008 regular season with a 2:00 p.m. match Saturday at Hillsdale. The Warriors and Chargers are tied for second in the South Division and are looking to secure home-court advantage for Wednesday night's GLIAC Tournament quarterfinal round.
