DETROIT - Wayne State officials have announced the 2004 Warrior volleyball schedule today. WSU will begin its season with four non-conference matches at the Capital City Classic in Charleston, W.Va., on Sept 10-11, before heading into the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) portion of the schedule.
The Warriors open the league schedule with a match at rival Hillsdale on Sept. 14, then have a four-match home stand against Gannon (Sept. 17), Mercyhurst (Sept. 18), Northwood (Sept. 24) and Saginaw Valley State (Sept. 25).
After a pair of conference tilts in Ohio (Ashland, Sept. 29 and Findlay, Oct. 1), the Warriors will return to host the three U.P. schools from Oct. 8-10 in Detroit. Wayne State will hit the road again with contests at Ferris State and Grand Valley State on Oct. 15-16, then a set of matches in Erie, Pa., against Mercyhurst and Gannon on Oct. 22-23.
The Warriors' final home meets will feature Ashland (Oct. 29) and Findlay (Oct. 30) before Senior Night against Hillsdale on Nov. 5.
The GLIAC Tournament is set for Nov. 11-13 at the top-seeded school.
