DETROIT- - Wayne State freshman Megan Smolen is ranked 11th in aces per game in the first NCAA Division II statistics report of the season, released Sept. 19.
The outside hitter from Grosse Ile, Mich., has 34 aces in 38 games, an average of .89 service aces per game (report is as of 9/15/02). The jumper serving specialist also leads the team in kills (136) and digs (146).
The top server in the country is Bridgeport's Kristine Rodriguez with 1.57 aces per game.
The Warriors are currently 9-2 (1-0 GLIAC) and head to Saginaw Valley State Friday, Sept 20 for a 7 p.m. match and take on #18 Northwood Saturday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m.
