DETROIT - Two WSU volleyball players were named to the 2004 Daktronics, Inc. All-Great Lakes Region Second Team, released Nov. 24. Juniors Sei Hee Hwang (Toronto, Ont./Cedarbrae) and Elisa Joris (Walled Lake, Mich./Western) were selected on the eight-member squad.
Hwang, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Libero of the Year, led the nation in digs at 7.08 per game while setting a school record for digs in a season (602) and in a match (46).
Joris, who was also earned regional honorable mention status from the AVCA, was fourth in Division II in blocks (1.73 per game) and led the Warriors in kills, blocks and points.
The team is voted on by the sports information directors of the region's member institutions and sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition.
