Six members of the 2006 Wayne State volleyball team were named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic team.

To be eligible for GLIAC All-Academic status a student athlete must have: a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or greater (on a 4.0 scale); must be a starter or key reserve; and must not be a freshman or first-year transfer.

Selected to the GLIAC All-Academic team were seniors Michelle Bittner (Hamtramck, Mich./Regina), Kristen Buter (Muskegon, Mich./North Muskegon), Kristi Pieper (Roseville, Mich./Fraser), and Holly Soldenski (Warren, Mich./Woods Tower), along with redshirt juniors Jordan Peek (Birch Run, Mich./Frankenmuth) and Gina Zielonka (Sterling Hts./Mich.).

This is Pieper's first such award, while her five teammates were all eligible for the honor for the first time this season.
