ORLANDO, Fla. - The Wayne State women's cross country team participated in the Disney Relays, held at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex, March 10-11. The Warriors placed eighth out of 10 schools.

Despite the Disney Relays being primarily composed of track and field events, the Warriors were competitive in each that they took part in.

In the 1500 meter run, Rachelle Malette (Winsdor, Ont./Holy Names) and Laura Friedman (Canton, Mich./Plymouth Salem) took second and third place, respectively. Malette ran in a time of 5:04.10, and Friedman posted a time of 5:08.19.

Jenni Culbertson (Clinton Twp., Mich./Dakota) finished third in the 5000 meter race (19:26.66), while Teresa Sabin (Lowell, Mich./Saranac) placed 11th (22:08.06).

Sabin also participated in the 3000 meter steeplechase, winning the event in a time of 13:14.20.

The Warriors finished in sixth place in the 4x1600 meter relay, recording a time of 23:09.78.
