LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Wayne State's women's cross country team ran to a third-place finish at the 45-team Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Sept. 27 in Louisville, Ky. The Warriors finished with 147 points as Belmont and Northwest College tied for the title with 90 points each.

Sophomore Melissa Moncion (Washington, Mich./Romeo) was the Warriors' top runner with a 17th-place run after she placed 32nd last season. Redshirt senior Amy Averill (Detroit, Mich./Southfield Christian) finished 21st while freshman Jenni Culbertson (Clinton Twp., Mich./Dakota) was 25th.

Finishing out the scoring for Wayne State was freshman Faith Kejbou (Warren, Mich./Fitzgerald) in 40th place and redshirt junior Renee Moncion (Washington, Mich./Mich. State) in 59th.

WSU's next race is the Paul Short Invitational on Oct. 4 in Bethlehem, Pa.
