Rochester, Mich. - The Wayne State University women's cross country squad placed fourth out of 11 schools at the 2005 Michigan Intercollegiate hosted by Oakland University on Friday afternoon.
Junior Jenni Culbertson (Clinton Twp., Mich./Dakota) finished the 6k course in a time of 22:40.3 to place seventh.
Also running well for the Warriors were senior Melissa Moncion (Washington, Mich./Romeo) who placed 10th in a time of 23:09.3 and junior Leah Steinke (Windsor, Ont./Kennedy C.I.), who placed 20th in a time of 23:48.6.
Junior Sarah Kearfott (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson) had a time of 24:47.3 to place 35th (32nd in team scoring), while freshman Teresa Sabin (Lowell, Mich./Saranac) was 45th (41st in team scoring) in a time of 25:34.3. Junior Faith Kejbou (Warren, Mich./Fitzgerald) was 58th in a time of 26:48.9.
Next up for WSU is the 2005 GLIAC Championship on Saturday, Oct. 22 in Ishpeming, Mich.
