Findlay, Ohio - Sophomore Rachelle Malette (Windsor, Ontario/Holy Names) finished in second place overall and the Wayne State women's cross country team finished seventh out of 13 teams at the GLIAC Championships, hosted by the University of Findlay. Malette was the only WSU runner to finish in the top 20 as senior Leah Steinke (Windsor, Ontario/Kennedy C.I.) finished 21st overall.
Season-ending awards were handed out after the race. UF coach, Marc Arce won Coach of the Year, while Grand Valley's Leah Borns and Laura Aderman won Freshman of the Year and Athlete of the Year, respectively.
The Warriors will compete at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, in Kenosha, Wisc., on Saturday, November 4.
