Both the Wayne State University men's and women's cross country squads were recognized with a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award.

To be eligible for the honor, teams must list all student-athletes whose names appear on the NCAA eligibility form and who have competed in 50 percent or more of the cross country competitions on the team's schedule. Additionally, the team must compete at the NCAA Division II regional championships and have a team cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

The WSU women's squad had a 3.18 team grade-point average, while the men's team had a 3.17.

Sixty-six (66) men's teams were honored along with 99 women's squads with All-Academic Team accolades.

At the 2007 NCAA Championship, the WSU women's squad was 14th, while the men placed 19th.
