Fullerton, Calif. - Members of the Wayne State University women's cross country squad competed in the 2005 Ben Brown Invitational hosted by California State-Fullerton on March 12.
Sophomore Jenni Culbertson (Clinton Twp., Mich./Dakota) led WSU with a sixth-place finish in the 5000 meter run in a time of 17:36.36. Junior Melissa Moncion (Washington, Mich./Romeo) was 14th (18:14.81), while sophomore Leah Steinke (Windsor, Ont./Kennedy Collegiate Institute) was 22nd (18:28.19).
Freshman Meghan Wafer (Redford, Mich./Thurston) was 51st (19:39.31) while classmate Kara Kessler (Ionia, Mich./Ionia) was 53rd (19:42.47). Sophomore Faith Kejbou (Warren, Mich./Fitzgerald) placed 62nd (20:21.96).
The Warriors will participate in the 2005 Oxy Invite hosted by Occidental College in Los Angeles this Friday.
