Rachelle Malette was named to the Division II women's cross country all-region team

Detroit, Mich. - Wayne State sophomore runner Rachelle Malette (Windsor, Ontario/Holy Names) was named to the NCAA Division II All-Region Women's Cross Country Team, announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday, Nov. 7. The announcement comes just days after Malette was honored with All-Region accolades after her fourth-place finish in the Great Lakes Regional last Saturday. She will compete at the NCAA Championships in Pensacola, Fla. on Saturday, Nov. 18.

Malette led the Warriors in every race this season, including three first-place finishes. Her best time this season came at the Tommmy Titan Invitational on Sept. 9, where she finished in first place overall with a time of 18:31.

Joining Malette on the Great Lakes Region team are nine other GLIAC runners.

The NCAA Championships will take place at the Escambia County Equestrian Center in Pensacola, Fla. on Saturday, Nov. 18.
