Six members of the 2005 Wayne State women's cross country team were named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic team. The Warriors placed seventh at the league championship and eighth at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional this season.

To be eligible for GLIAC All-Academic status, a student athlete must have: a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or greater (on a 4.0 scale); must be a starter or key reserve; and must not be a freshman or first-year transfer.

Selected to the GLIAC All-Academic team were junior Jenni Culbertson (Clinton Twp., Mich./Dakota), redshirt junior Sarah Kearfott (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson), junior Faith Kejbou (Warren, Mich./Fitzgerald), sophomore Kara Kessler (Ionia, Mich.), senior Melissa Moncion (Washington, Mich./Romeo), and junior Leah Steinke (Windsor, Ont./Kennedy C.I.).

Moncion was honored for the third time in her career, while Culbertson, Kejbou, and Steinke have earned the award twice. Kearfott (a transfer from Schoolcraft C.C.) and Kessler were eligible for the first time this season.
